And my vote goes to The Gun by Mark Haddon:the EFG Sunday Times Short Story prize 2013-Part 3

I had to give my vote to Mark Haddon’s The Gun. I only ever rave about stories that light up my world and make me feel jealous. His did. I recommended it to my husband and he will be urged/forced to read it. The same goes for the Toby Litt The Bug but I just feel The Gun covers all important aspects for me when I am reading a short story!

So, get voting now! Mark Haddon, Mark Haddon, Mark Haddon.

Please don’t let me influence your vote!

  1. Hi-thanks for stopping by my blog-I do intend now to read and post in pretty close sequence all of the other stories-I am pondering if I will buy Diaz’s new collection-I liked Drowned and was a bit puzzled over the huge fuss over his The Short Life of Oscar Wao but I liked it well enough to buy this short story collection.

    1. Interesting, I often wonder about the hype around certain novels and this may be one! I might buy his short stories at some point but there are so many out there I want to read. Am waiting for Alice Munroe’s to come out in paperback, could be a while!
      Any other good tips?
Thanks for the reply, great to have a fellow short story reader on the blog roll! Your blog is great, btw!
