Reading Brokeback Mountain, a short story collection by Annie Proux. Finished The mud below last night. Annie is a pro at story structure and making the reader almost cry at the rawness of her characters’ lives. This story is about a young rodeo in Wyoming. A journey story where the protagonist searches for meaning in a place where we know there is none. Annie writes brilliantly about and for the young, disconnected male.
